PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that there is no function for improving a sanitary state of a document in an image reader and that there is a risk for consuming power by excessive use of an ultraviolet ray lamp when sterilization processing is to be performed by using the ultraviolet ray lamp.SOLUTION: An image reader includes: document transportation means for transporting a document; image reading means for reading an image of the document transported by the document transportation means; an ultraviolet ray lamp for irradiating the document transported by the document transportation means with an ultraviolet ray for sterilization; and a control section for controlling a light volume of the ultraviolet ray lamp to be small as transportation speed at which the document transportation means transports the document is slow. |
