A pneumatic stepper actuator (100) includes an actuator body (102) including a piston chamber (110), a first pneumatic port (116), and a second pneumatic port (117), a piston element (150) configured to move reciprocally within the piston chamber (110), a stepper gear (139) including a threaded aperture (138) and projecting at least partially into the piston chamber (110), wherein the piston element (150) rotates the stepper gear (139) by a predetermined rotational increment in a predetermined rotational direction upon a corresponding actuation cycle of the piston element (150), prevents rotation beyond the predetermined rotational increment, and prevents rotation when not in an actuation cycle, and a stepper actuator element (134) including external threads (135). The external threads (135) interact with the threaded aperture (138) and the stepper actuator element (134) moves linearly axially through a predetermined linear increment with rotation of the stepper gear (139). |
