Disclosed is an aqueous ink for inkjet recording, which has excellent ink-ejecting properties, excellent coloring properties and excellent image stability. Specifically disclosed is an ink which comprises a pigment dispersion comprising components (A) and (B) and an aqueous medium: (A) an azo pigment which is represented by formula (I) or the like and has at least one X-ray diffraction peak characteristic to each of Bragg angle (2θ±0.2°) ranges of 5 to 15° and 20 to 30° in CuKαcharacteristic X-ray diffraction; and (B): a vinyl polymer containing a hydrophobic structure unit (a) and a hydrophilic structure unit (c).
