a processing system configured to:
identify a plurality of wakeup periods during which the apparatus may choose to enable radio functions in order to relay data from a first wireless device to a second wireless device;determine, for at least some of the wakeup periods, whether to enable the radio functions based on one or more conditions; andenable the radio functions if the one or more conditions indicate there is data to be received or transmitted.
