The present invention relates to a skin whitening composition using a Xylosma congesta extract which has an inhibitory activity on mushroom tyrosinase, and shows an inhibitory activity on the generation of melanin when being treated in B16F10, which is a melanoma cell stimulated by α-MSH, which is a melanocyte stimulator.
