A frictional resistance reduction device for a ship is configured to reduce the frictional resistance between the ship body (11) and seawater (A) by discharging air into the sea from the bottom (21) of the ship body (11). The frictional resistance reduction device is provided with holds (19a, 19b) which are arranged in the traveling direction of the ship body (11), bulkheads (23) which separate the holds (19a, 19b), and a nozzle (66) which is provided to the bottom (21) of the ship body (11) and which discharges air into the sea. The nozzle (66) is provided below the forward-most bulkhead (23) with respect to the traveling direction of the ship body (11).
