[Problem] To provide a chromatic harmonica in which valve sticking caused by condensation between the valve and the reed plate when the harmonica is played under a low environmental temperature is eliminated, whereby the harmonica is prevented from failing to make a sound or suddenly producing a sound and the player is able to enjoyably play the harmonica. [Solution] A heat-generating body is made to contact the reed plate (5) of a chromatic harmonica (1), and heat from the heat-generating body generated by heating the heat-generating body using a power source is transmitted to the reed plate (5) and the temperature of the reed plate (5) is raised. The temperature of the reed plate (5) is thereby increased to a temperature approximately equal to body temperature, reducing the temperature difference between exhaled air and the reed plate (5) and thereby minimizing condensation. Methods that can be used with regards to the heat-generating body include a method in which a U-shaped heat-generating body sandwiches the outer surface of the reed plate (5) from the bottom surface of the chromatic harmonica (1) and the heat from the heat-generating body is transmitted from the contact surface to the reed plate (5) (externally fitted type), and a method in which the heat-generating body is built into the interior of the main body and the temperature of the reed plate (5) is raised from the inner surface (built-in type). |
