Disclosed is a method for efficiently producing iron (III) ions from an acidic solution that contains iodide ions and iron (II) ions, while separating and recovering the iodine content. The method serves as a method for processing an acidic solution that contains iodide ions and iron (II) ions, and comprises a step wherein iron (II) ions in the solution are oxidized into iron (III) ions by iron-oxidizing microorganisms. The step is carried out in the presence of activated carbon.
