In a ground fault detection device 1, two photovoltaic strings 103 1 and 103 n are disconnected from a photovoltaic power generation system 100, measurement for one photovoltaic string 103 n is performed by a measuring instrument 3, and in parallel therewith, the other photovoltaic string 103 1 before measurement is charged/discharged by a charging/discharging unit 4 by executing various functions of the calculation control unit 5. In other words, charging/discharging of the photovoltaic string 103 1 is performed in advance at the same timing as the measurement of the photovoltaic string 103 n so that the measurement can be performed immediately after the photovoltaic string 103 1 is connected to the measuring instrument 3 in a subsequent step.
