The invention relates to a vehicle based display system, comprising a driver head tracking system with a sensor (15) for monitoring the driver head position and/or gaze direction. The system also comprises a display (10) for displaying information to a driver of the vehicle, and a control unit (14) for controlling the display (10) to modify displayed information depending on the driver head position. The invention also relates to a method for operating the display system.
