The separating device is provided with a support for a work piece (13), which rests on rollers, where the rollers lie pairwise opposite to each other. The lower roller pair lies at a distance below the upper roller pair. The rollers or the lower roller pair have smaller distance from each other than the rollers of the upper roller pair. A cutting wheel is linearly adjusted in the direction to the support and rotates the work piece about an axis during separating process. The rollers of the two roller pairs lie in different heights and the contact position between the cutting wheel and the workpieces lies in a plane (33). The plane lies perpendicular to a connecting line (34) between the axes of the rollers of the upper and lower roller pairs on which the work piece rests. An independent claim is included for a support for use with the separating device. |
