Provided is a method for manufacturing a coal briquette that is charged in a dome portion of a molten gas furnace for rapid heating in a molten iron manufacturing apparatus including the molten gas furnace in which reduced iron is charged; and a reduction furnace which is connected to the molten gas furnace to provide the reduced iron. The coal briquette manufacturing method includes i) a step for providing pulverized coal; ii) a step for plasticizing a carbon source; iii) a step for providing a mixture in which the pulverized coal and the plasticized carbon source are mixed with each other; and iv) a step for providing the coal briquette by molding the mixture. In the step for providing the mixture, the amount of the carbon source in the mixture may be greater than zero and may be equal to or less than 30 wt% of the mixture.
