837,143. Brakes for textile spindles. RIETER & CIE A. G., J. J. Oct. 16, 1957 [Oct. 17, 1956], No. 32350/57. Class 120(2) A brake for a textile spinning &c. spindle comprises a brake element 8, of which the braking surface is an inner surface of a torus, mounted eccentrically and so as to be pivoted perpendicularly to the spindle axis and near a rotating part 7 of the spindle, the brake being brought into contact with the rotating part by rocking a lever 17 connected to the element. In Fig. 1, the element is carried by pins rotatably mounted in extensions 15, 16 of a surface integral with or screwed on to a fixed part 3 and engages a flange 7 of the wharve. In another form, Fig. 4, the element is mounted on a pin fixed in the extensions by means of a sleeve 20 with corrugations, to prevent undue pressure being applied to the surface to be braked. |
