<p>The present invention relates to an optical time-domain reflectometer and a method for the optical time-domain reflectometer to obtain a test signal. By enabling a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) to be in a switching state, when a test signal returned from a passive optical network under test is a large signal, the SOA can be turned off so that the signal is not received by an APD, so as to basically eliminate the large signal's interference in and shielding against a successive small signal, then by turning on the SOA, a small signal subsequent to the large signal is received, so as to basically eliminate a dead zone of the test signal; and by turning on the SOA in different positions of a dense reflection area, test signals is received, so as to implement distinguishing all reflected signals of the area.</p> |
