The present invention relates to a method for verifying bio data, which can verify whether an error exists in high-capacity bio data received from a client terminal on a real-time basis, and an apparatus therefor. A method for verifying an error of bio data received from a client terminal in a data verification apparatus according to the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving a request for upload of bio data from the client terminal and storing the bio data in a storage system; extracting each sequence from the bio data, and verifying whether each sequence is effective data; calculating an error rate of a sequence when the sequence with an error is detected; and checking whether the calculated error rate exceeds a threshold and, when the calculated error rate exceeds the threshold, stopping the upload of the bio data.
