The door has a handle arranged on a plate-shaped base (7). A gripping part is pivotally retracted in the handle. An operating element (10) moves along the gripping part based on movement of loosening of a countersunk base position of the gripping part. A recess extends along the gripping part. A locking element (10g) i.e. hook, is provided in a rear side of the actuating element and engaged with the gripping part and an external door handle holding part (20a) in sunken ground state. A front panel (10b) is pressed on the actuating element. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a household appliance (2) a method for opening a door.
