<p>Described herein is a lock assembly (100) that can be fitted to a tubular frame (10) and which cooperates with a keeper assembly (420) fitted to a post (65). The lock assembly (100) is compact in that is provides both a latch bolt (120) and a security member (125) that engages with a cavity (430) formed in the keeper assembly (420). The security member (125) performs three functions: to provide additional guidance for the latch bolt (120) as it extends into a lock body of the lock assembly (100), to prevent interference with the latch bolt (125) due to the minimal spacing provided around the security member (125) within the cavity (430) of the keeper assembly (420) and to limit the closing movement of the door or gate by abutting against the keeper assembly.</p> |
