The present invention relates to an air conditioning system having an electronic expansion valve and a method of controlling an rpm of an engine which is coupled with torque of a compressor. The air conditioning system employs a method of actively controlling the compressor and the electronic expansion valve at the same time, a control process of adjusting the discharge amount of the compressor using a control function of an external control variable compressor to which a compressor control valve is applied, and a control process of finely adjusting the flow rate of a refrigerant passing the electronic expansion valve which is repeatedly performed, thereby maintaining the minimum power required for the compressor while maintaining the optimum performance.
