The present invention relates to a control device and a method for eco-driving of a vehicle. The control device for eco-driving of a vehicle comprises a route search unit, which searches a driving route to a destination based on collected traffic information; a battery consumption prediction unit, which predicts battery consumption while the vehicle is being driven to the destination based on the searched route; a comparing unit, which checks the residual quantity of a battery based on the cumulative battery consumption while the vehicle is being driven and compares the residual quantity with expected battery consumption; and an eco-control unit, which controls the operation of some of multiple engine control units (ECU) equipped in the vehicle by converting the driving mode of the vehicle into an eco-mode when the expected battery consumption is above the residual quantity of the battery based on the comparison of the comparing unit. |
