The present invention relates to an autocruise of a vehicle. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for controlling the autocruise which appropriately utilizes the maximum torque for each gear level by applying various variables to prevent an unnecessary gearshift. The present invention is a method for controlling the acceleration of the vehicle including an autocruise system and comprises the following steps: (1) requesting engine torque for each gear position during acceleration switching; (2) determining acceleration by comparing the vehicle acceleration to target acceleration; (3) determining the number of shift downs by comparing the number of actual shift downs, which has been gear-shifted to the setting number of the shift downs when the vehicle acceleration is lower than the target acceleration in the step of determining the acceleration; (4) generating the shift down when the number of actual shift downs is smaller than the setting number in the step of determining the number of shift downs; and (5) generating set engine torque. |
