摘要 The present invention relates to a broadband wireless access system, and more particularly, to a method in which a terminal determines a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of uplink allocation information received from a base station under a condition such as that of a random access process in which both the terminal and the base station do not know each other's channel state. According to one exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a method of transmitting data comprises: receiving, from the base station, uplink allocation information for indicating an uplink resource for transmitting the specific data: determining a lowest modulation and coding scheme (MCS) to be applied to the specific data using information on the size and allocation size of the specific data; and transmitting to the base station via the uplink source, the specific data to which the determined MCS is applied.
