According to the present invention, an ice maker comprises a cooling unit generating cooling air; an ice making unit which accommodates water supplied from a water supplying unit and makes ice by cooling water with the cooling air received from the cooling unit; an opening and closing unit which is installed on a connection line between the water supplying unit and the ice making unit and controls the water supplied to the ice making unit; a sensing unit which is installed on the connection line and senses whether the water is present in the connection line while the opening and closing unit is opened; and a control unit which controls the operation of the opening and closing unit, the ice making unit, and the cooling unit and stops the operation of the ice making unit when receiving a no-water signal sent from the sensing unit. |
