Disclosed is an entrained flow gasifier which can increase the production of synthetic gas by using slag generated as a byproduct of gasification. The disclosed entrained flow gasifier uses coal, an oxidizer, and vapor as raw materials to gasify the raw materials and produce synthetic gas and generates slag as a byproduct obtained through the gasification of the raw materials. The entrained flow gasifier comprises: a reaction chamber into which the raw materials are injected to be gasified; and a slag cooling unit which is formed inside the reaction chamber and cools the slag by means of a coolant. By virtue of the entrained flow gasifier, slag is cooled, and gas including hydrogen and vapor is produced so that the production of synthetic gas can be increased and the production of synthetic gas can be ensured even when low-grade coal containing much lime is used.
