The present invention relates to a separator for an electrochemical device which has both end parts of a separator pore which have different diameters and have a truncated cone in a thickness direction, and a method of manufacturing the same. A technical objective that a surface where a pore with a larger diameter is formed faces a cathode to close the separator pore by byproducts in a secondary battery storage and cycle test is solved. The long-term performance of the electrochemical device can be obtained.
