receiving at a content distribution and management system activity data associated with a user from a client, the client comprising an interface configured to display commercial content and a player configured to access the content distribution and management system; storing the activity data in a database; displaying the commercial content using the interface; receiving another activity data associated with the user from the client; storing the another activity data in the database; determining another commercial content to display using the activity data and the another activity data, the another commercial content associated with a control parameter configured to modify one or more functions available while playing the another commercial content; modifying the one or more functions based on the control parameter; and displaying the another commercial content.
