An electrical component unit is configured to control the feeder and the image forming unit. The image forming unit and the electrical component unit are respectively disposed on both sides of the feeder in a shorter side direction.

An image forming apparatus comprising: a feeder having a longer side direction orthogonal to a conveyance direction of a recording medium, and configured to feed a maximum size recording medium with a longer side first; an image forming unit having a maximum sheet feed width corresponding to a longer side length of the maximum size recording medium, and configured to print a toner image corresponding to digital image data onto the recording medium; an electrical component unit configured to control the feeder and the image forming unit; a main body incorporating the feeder, the electrical component and the image forming unit, in which, the image forming unit and the electrical component unit are respectively disposed on opposite sides of the feeder in a shorter side direction; a first intake hole formed in the side plate of the main body closer to the electrical component unit; an exhaust hole formed in the side plate of the main body closer to the image forming unit; an air flow path extending from the first intake hole to the exhaust hole through the electrical component unit and the image forming unit; a cooling fan disposed between the electrical component unit and the image forming unit in the air flow path; and a second intake hole, different from the first intake hole, formed in the side of the main body closer to the electrical component unit, wherein the main body comprises an air introduction path extending from the second intake hole to the cooling fan without passing through the electrical component unit in addition to the air flow path.
