A particular method includes directing wave energy toward a collection region inside a collector by receiving the wave energy from outside the collector through an at least partially transparent portion of the collector and reflecting the wave energy toward the collection region using an at least partially reflective portion of the collector. The method also includes receiving the wave energy at a receiver disposed in the collection region.

1. A system, comprising:
a collector configured to direct wave energy toward a collection region at an interior of the collector, wherein the collector is filled with an ambient fluid, the collector comprising:
transparent portions that are at least partially transparent to the wave energy, wherein the transparent portions are arranged such that wave energy from multiple directions can pass into the interior of the collector; andreflective portions that are at least partially reflective of the wave energy, wherein the reflective portions are arranged such that at least a portion of the wave energy that passes into the interior of the collector is reflected toward the collection region; a receiver disposed in the collection region to receive the wave energy that is reflected toward the collection region; and an inflator coupled to the collector and configured to inflate the collector with the ambient fluid when the collector is deployed, wherein the ambient fluid comprises a liquid.
