The present invention relates to a virtual desktop system and a method thereof and, more specifically, to a virtual desktop system whereby a portable terminal is enabled to access a virtual server such that a user of the portable terminal can experience a PC environment through the portable terminal, and a method thereof. To achieve this, a virtual desktop system according to the present invention includes: a portable terminal to request a virtual desktop connection through a local area communication; a virtual server having a virtual PC to form a virtual desktop session with the portable terminal; and a manager server to search for the virtual PC in the virtual server to transmit information about the virtual PC to the portable terminal according to the request of the virtual desktop connection. When the portable terminal attempts to establish the virtual desktop connection with the virtual server according to the virtual PC information received from the manager server, the virtual desktop session is formed between the portable terminal and the virtual PC of the virtual server. |
