Erlotinib hydrochloride can be used as medicament for the treatment of hyperproliferative disorders, such as cancers, in humans. |

1. A process for the manufacture of a crystalline polymorph of the hydrochloride salt of N-(3-ethynylphenyl)6,7-bis(2-methoxy ethoxy)-4-quinazolinamine designated as Form-P, the process comprising:
dissolving N-(3-ethynylphenyl)6,7-bis(2-methoxyethoxy)-4-quinazolinamine in dry methylene chloride; and reacting it with a solution of dry hydrogen chloride gas in methylene chloride, methanol, or isopropanol.
