METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF SECONDARY LACTASE DEFICIENCY IN INFANTS

A method for the treatment of the secondary lactase deficiency in the infants consists in decreasing or eliminating the food intake of lactose. Since the first day of the treatment, lactase-containing formulation Mammalac 30 mg is used (1000 U or a third of the capsule per 100 mL of the milk) or Coliprev (7 drops per 100 mL of the milk). The enzyme is added to 10-15 mL of the expressed breast milk for 5-10 minutes for fermentation. The fermented milk is then given to the baby followed by the breast feeding. The duration of the treatment is 10 days.
