FIELD: medicine, pharmaceutics.SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to antimicrobial compositions and methods for using them, and aims at the preoperative skin processing and disinfection, wound care, and as a disinfectant for sterilisation of surgical instruments. An antimicrobial composition contains at least approximately 30 wt % or more of C-Calcohol, approximately 1.5 wt % to 15 wt % of citric acid, approximately 0.01 wt % to 1 wt % of paraben, and approximately 0.01 wt % to 0.2 wt % of a redox compound. The antimicrobial composition has pH from approximately 3 to approximately 7.
