PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector that facilitates alignment of cores and whose connection loss is small.SOLUTION: An optical connector 100 includes optical fiber 20 and a ferrule 10 that has an open hole 12 for accommodating the optical fiber in an axial direction and at whose tip the apical surface of the accommodated optical fiber is exposed. The open hole has a taper shape such that a diameter becomes small toward the tip. The optical fiber has a taper shape that shrinks toward the tip at a part in the open hole of the ferrule.
