PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracker and a tracking method, capable of tracking a tracking target continuously without sudden behavioral change of the tracking target and of smoothly controlling an imaging direction of an imaging apparatus that images the tracking target, even when a plurality of tracking methods are concurrently used.SOLUTION: A tracker 10 of the present invention includes: imaging means 20 for imaging a tracking target; a camera gimbal 30 for controlling the imaging direction of the imaging means 20 and outputting the state information at this time; reference position output means 50 for selecting any one of the signals output from a GPS receiver 51, track prediction means 52, or successively calculation means 53, and outputting the signal as a reference position signal; distance measurement means 60 for measuring the distance from the imaging means 20 to the tracking target: error extraction means 40 for extracting a positional error of the tracking target from image information; and control means 70 for generating a driving signal on the basis of the reference position signal, distance information, positional error, and the state information. |
