PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder using roll paper capable of detecting an end edge of paper on which processing for end detection is not performed.SOLUTION: When roll label paper 102 is not drawn out to an end edge, a drawing out direction is, shown as a drawing out part 102a of a solid line, a direction of a tangent line with respect to an outer peripheral surface of a roll 100. When the roll label paper is carried out to the end edge, the drawing out direction is, shown as a drawing out part 102a of an alternate long and short dash line, a direction connecting, in the shortest distance, an adhering position of the roll label paper 102 to a winding core 101, with a holding position by a conveyance roller 103 and a pressure roller 104. An optical sensor 120 is disposed so as to face a plane extending in this direction. On the basis that light 120a emitted from a light emitting element of the optical sensor 120 and reflected on the roll label paper 102 is detected by a light receiving element, it is detected that the paper is drawn out to the end edge. |
