PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic relay capable of suppressing beat, and also to provide a method of manufacturing the electromagnetic relay.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic relay includes: an iron core 28 having a groove 28b traversing an end surface 28a provided on the end surface 28a; and a shading coil 30 fitted to the groove 28b. The electromagnetic relay is provided in which the shading coil 30 is fixed to the iron core 28 by caulking a first region 28c and a second region 28d holding the groove 28b in the end surface 28a, and a method of manufacturing the electromagnetic relay is also provided.
