PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety of IC card settlement by a portable information terminal.SOLUTION: A portable information terminal executes: a first proximity operation request process for urging a user to perform a first proximity operation of an IC card; an input operation request process for urging a user to perform an input operation with an input part when it is determined that the first proximity operation is performed by communication between the IC card and a terminal side antenna; a second proximity operation request process for urging a user to perform a second proximity operation of the IC card when the input operation is performed; and a subtracting process for subtracting claim information from balance information stored in the IC card when it is determined that the second proximity operation is performed by communication between the IC card and the terminal side antenna.
