PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat ray-shielding material satisfactory in heat insulating performance at fresh time and after light resistance testing when stuck on the external light side of a glass window or a transparent resin window or laminated on an intermediate film of a laminated glass.SOLUTION: There is provided a heat ray-shielding material which can be laminated on the external light side of a glass window or a transparent resin window or on an intermediate film of a window of a laminated glass, has an ultra-violet absorbing layer and a metal particle-containing layer containing metal particles in this order from the external light side, wherein the ultra-violet absorbing layer has a transmittance at a wavelength of 390 nm of 30% or less.
