<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to prevent damage to an edge of a fixing member, to keep a uniform temperature, and to improve image quality.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a fixing member which forms a fixing nip for holding and conveying a sheet, and heats and pressurizes the sheet passing through the nip, to fix a toner image to the sheet; a moving part for moving the fixing member in a sheet width direction; a temperature detection part which is arranged for an end of the fixing member and moves together with the fixing member, to detect a temperature of the end; and a control part which performs first move control which moves the fixing member reciprocally in the sheet width direction at a predetermined cycle on the basis of a detection result of the temperature detection part, and second move control which moves the fixing member in the sheet width direction so that the temperature of the fixing member falls within a predetermined temperature range.</p> |
