Provided are a system and a method for forecasting an electric vehicle charging load. The system for forecasting an electric vehicle charging load includes a selection part which selects first data associated with a forecasting date based on a first factor which represents a social factor in accordance with the forecasting date, a calculation part which calculates a variable cost considering a second factor which represents a variable with respect to the forecasting date except the first factor, and a forecasting part which forecasts a charging load by applying the variable cost to the first data.
