<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit driving force to a conveyance mechanism (ADF) of an image reading apparatus by a new configuration.SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus includes: a driving force transmission mechanism for selectively transmitting driving force generated in a driving source to a movement mechanism side or a conveyance mechanism 11 side; a first gear 41 which when the driving force is transmitted to the conveyance mechanism side, obtains the driving force from the driving force transmission mechanism and is allowed to rotate; and a second gear 42 allowed to be rotated by engaging with the first gear 41, capable of transmitting the driving force to the conveyance mechanism 11 side and configured so that a rotation center line L1 thereof coincides with a swing center line L2 of a hinge mechanism 5A. Consequently a document cover 5 can be swung in an engaged state of the first gear 41 and the second gear 42. Specifically, driving force can be always transmitted independently of a position of the document cover 5. Thereby, the driving force can be transmitted by the new configuration.</p> |
