PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption of a radio terminal wirelessly communicating with a telecommunication network, while avoiding the use of power required for search having low possibility of detecting a base station or an access point, in regard to a power saving technique of the radio terminal wirelessly communicating with the telecommunication network.SOLUTION: A multimode radio terminal 101 includes: a determination unit 1803 for determining whether or not being located outside a communication area that is connectable to a first telecommunication network by radio; and a search unit 1805 for omitting the search of a base station for relaying with the first telecommunication network or an access point when the radio terminal is located outside the communication area.
