PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of a mixed color in comparison with a case where an applied voltage corresponding to the color information of a particle group is simply applied to a display medium regardless of the color information of the other particle group or the like.SOLUTION: A drive unit 20 of a display medium 10 includes: a display substrate 50; a rear substrate 52; and a first particle group 62 and a second particle group 64 sealed between the display substrate 50 and the rear substrate 52 so as to move between those substrates in accordance with an electric field formed between those substrates, having different colors and different threshold voltages for generating an electric field to peel those particle groups from the substrates. The drive unit 20 includes: a voltage application part 30 for applying a plurality of color information voltages corresponding to the color information of the first particle group 62 and the second particle group 64 to the display medium 10 in a predetermined order; and a control part 40 for compensating the color information voltage corresponding to the color information of at least one particle group between the first particle group 62 and the second particle group 64 in accordance with the color information of the other particle group.
