<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain cutting flash and a rough cutting face when cutting an electrode material of a spark plug.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a spark plug having a main metal fitting with an inner hole, a center electrode arranged in the inner hole and a ground electrode connected to the main metal fitting at one end includes a step (a) of preparing an electrode material that is at least one material among the center electrode, the ground electrode, and an electrode chip jointed to at least one of the center electrode and the ground electrode; and a step (b) of cutting the electrode material using a cutting device having a first blade and a second blade. The step (b) includes a step (b1) of pressurizing the first blade or the second blade in a direction orthogonal to a cutting face generated by cutting in the step (b) and toward the other blade.</p> |
