PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe and an ultrasonic image diagnosis apparatus capable of preventing generation of an inversion layer and attaining both wideband audio characteristics and chemical-resistant properties.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic probe 2 comprises: a piezoelectric layer 22 for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves; an acoustic matching layer 23 formed of three or more layers arranged on a front surface of the piezoelectric layer 22; an acoustic lens 25 arranged at a front surface side of the acoustic matching layer 23; and a backing layer 21 arranged at a rear surface side of the piezoelectric layer 22. The ultrasonic probe 2 further comprises a protection layer 24 which is arranged on a surface, coming into contact with the acoustic lens 25, of the acoustic matching layer 23. The protection layer 24 has acoustic impedance lower than that of an uppermost layer 23c of the acoustic matching layer 23 and gas barrier properties. |
