PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of suppressing a transfer memory to suppress occurrence of image defects in an image forming apparatus including a DC voltage application-type charging unit employing a contact charging system and using a positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor; and to provide an image forming apparatus including the positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor as an image carrier.SOLUTION: A positively-charged single-layered electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer having a single layer structure formed on a conductive substrate, and is used in an image forming apparatus including a DC voltage application-type charging unit employing a contact charging system. A bis-stilbene quinone derivative having a specific structure is incorporated in the photosensitive layer as an electron transport material.
