PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing lens which is compact and yet has a wide image view angle and which can be manufactured at well reduced cost.SOLUTION: An image capturing lens comprises a negative first lens L1, a positive second lens L2, a positive third lens L3, an aperture stop ST, and a positive fourth lens L4 arranged in order from the object side. The first lens L1 is formed to be a meniscus lens and has an object-side surface which is convex in the vicinity of the optical axis. The second lens L2 is formed to be a meniscus lens having an object-side surface which is concave in the vicinity of the optical axis. The third lens L3 and the fourth lens L4 are formed to be biconvex in the vicinity of the optical axis. With such configuration, a focal length f of the entire lens system, a focal length f1 of the first lens L1, and an Abbe number &ngr;d1 of the first lens L1 satisfy a conditional expression; -75<f1/f<-5.045<&ngr;d1<70. |
