PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode assembly for solid polymer fuel cell in which leakage of hydrogen from an anode to a cathode is suppressed sufficiently, and a polymer electrolyte membrane has a sufficient mechanical strength.SOLUTION: A membrane electrode assembly 10 includes an anode 20 having a catalyst layer 22, a cathode 30 having a catalyst layer 32, and a polymer electrolyte membrane 40 arranged between the catalyst layer 22 of the anode 20 and the catalyst layer 32 of the cathode 30. A flake-like carbon layer 50 exists between the catalyst layer 22 of the anode 20 and the polymer electrolyte membrane 40. |
