PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To early detect heat generation of an unburned combustibles that is accumulated in a catalyst layer, with simple equipment configuration.SOLUTION: There is provided an exhaust gas treatment apparatus 1 in which a plurality of stages of a denitration catalyst layer 25 are arranged along the flow direction of exhaust gas so as to cross a cross section of an exhaust gas flow passage where the exhaust gas flows through in the vertical direction. One of the denitration catalyst layers 25 of the upper stage side except the denitration catalyst layers 25 disposed in the lowest stage among the plurality of stages of the denitration catalyst layer 25 has a portion 31 carrying a denitration catalyst and a portion 49 carrying an oxidation catalyst with a capability of oxidizing an organic compound higher than the denitration catalyst. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus includes upper end temperature detection means 39 for detecting a gas temperature in the vicinity of an upper end of the portion carrying the oxidation catalyst, and lower end temperature detection means 43 for detecting a gas temperature in the vicinity of a lower end of the portion carrying the oxidation catalyst. |
