PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional communication system based on a source device and an extension device, and a method therein.SOLUTION: In a bidirectional communication system based on a source device and an extension device, the source device includes: a system operation unit in charge of system operation of the source device; a video processing unit for processing a video signal to be transmitted to the extension device; a radio communication unit for performing radio communication with the extension device; and an extension agent unit for processing a user input transmitted from the extension device. The extension device includes: a radio communication unit for performing radio communication with the source device; a video processing unit for processing the video signal transmitted from the source device; a display unit for displaying the video signal; and a user input unit for providing a user interface of the extension device.
