THICKENER FOR CEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thickener for cement which imparts appropriate material separation resistance and is suppressed in the reduction of flowability (slump flow).SOLUTION: The thickener for cement is produced by fibrillating an oxidized cellulose-based raw material which is obtained by oxidizing a cellulose-based raw material by using (a3) an oxidant in the presence of a compound selected from the group comprising (a1) N-oxyl compounds and (a2) bromides, iodides, or a mixture of them. A cement composition containing the thickener for cement is also provided.
